Prior to the trip we needed to fix / upgrade the brakes on the cub. The originals brakes aren’t very good, even when they’re new. Actually, the earlier model cubs didn’t even have brakes when they rolled off the factory line.
The best upgrade you can get is Cleveland brake upgrade. Unfortunately this upgrade requires new wheels and tires which significantly increases the cost and changes the way they look. Personally, I like the look of the original tires because they’re big and round and have a cool nostalgic look to them. But, from a practical point of view, the upgrade makes sense and I’m glad to have it.
We also had to fix the cross member because it had a little bend in it. Jay fixed all this stuff this week and sent me the pictures. He took the pictures with the N95 I sent him.
